 is not only the land of pyramids, nor does it only evoke the One 
Thousand and One Nights. In addition to the land of Pharaonic and 
Islamic wonders, there is also an Egypt that often remains undiscovered:
 that of the Copts – the Egyptian Christians. According to the narration
 of the Bible, the Saviour, fleeing the persecution of Herod, found 
refuge on this blessed land. The lecture maps the living memory of the 
Holy Family's journey to Egypt. The audience will be guided through the 
places where the two thousand year old Coptic tradition has preserved 
the memory of the visit.Dr.
 Imre Lázár PhD. is cultural diplomat, former Director of Hungarian 
Cultural Office in Cairo. He is author of the books Keresztény 
zarándokhelyek Egyiptomban (Christian Pilgrimage Sites in Egypt) and
