The whole list is worthwhile studying.

On Islam the Pope said this:

Quote from the article:
----------

*"11. “The idea of conquest is inherent to the soul of Islam.”*

Yes, Francis leveled that gem back in May 2016
<https://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2016/05/17/pope-francis-idea-conquest-inherent-soul-islam/>.
I might place it higher on this list if not for how Francis attempted to
soften it with an outrageous caveat. In immediately sensing his gravely
politically incorrect offense, Francis tried to offset the comment with an
utterly shameful criticism of Christianity from Matthew’s Gospel: “One
could also interpret the end of Saint Matthew’s gospel, where Jesus sends
out his disciples to all nations, as the same idea of conquest.”

Balderdash. That was bunkum and Francis surely knew it from the moment it
fell off his lips. He surely regretted it, and will need to answer to Jesus
himself for that one. Nonetheless, he said what he said about Islam:
conquest is inherent to its very soul.

Would the historians really want to disagree with the Pope's statement
on Islam?

For nearly 300 years Christianity spread not by conquest but against all
odds and persecution because of its message of truth and love which won
people over.

If Christian nations or rulers choose other ways to spread Christianity
than teaching the word of God they surely sinned against the original
message and need to repent. Pope John Paul II had actually addressed these
issues a number of times.

In comparison: For the first 300 years Islam spread by???

The peaceful Mecca times brought an estimated 100 converts to Islam. But
the strategy changed after the flight to Medina...

The exegesis of the Koran follows the rule that the later verses supersede
the earlier ones. Therfore, it is easy to quote the peaceful verses in
order to convince non-Muslims of a peaceful Islam, while in fact the later
verses are those who give the rule of conduct.

Fr. Henri Boulard points this fact out and he is therefore considered
politically incorrect. He had stated his firm convictions a number of times
in talks in Hungary. Therefore, I can say that the interview below does
represent his views:

P.S. I wonder whether I will be considered a person without charity, now,
that I have pointed this out? Therefore, I would like to add two stories of
so many personal encounters which underline that we are not fighting
against flesh and blood ......:

During a conference in Egypt we made friends with a young Muslim journalist
lady from Indonesia. I found her to be a very sincere, upright, devout and
curious person. We had lengthy talks about both religions. We visited
a mosque and some churches together. Later she surprised us by sending a
note that she had attended three Christmas masses in Jakarta, the first
time she ever attended a church service. Now, she just wrote that after a
long prayer she will turn down an offer for a stipend in Azerbaijan and
would rather like to come to Hungary. If she is the truth seeking person
that I believe her to be, what will she find in Hungary? People who live
the Christian message of love for neighbour or people who use the Christian
message for political purposes? Is everybody who comes here a threat? What
will she find? Will she find people who can explain the faith correctly and
in a spirit of charity? Or will she be rejected because she wears the
hijab???

On the way back from Egypt we spoke to a young business man based in Saudi.
After a while he asked me whether I am aware that according to his religion
he is not supposed to talk to me. I said that I am aware of it and
therefore I would like to know why he bothers to talk to me nonetheless. He
said: "Because of my travels I learnt that we have to respect everybody as
a human being first. I have friends now from other religions as well. By
the time I am forty I would like to visit 40 countries. Now I am coming to
Hungary because I would like to spend Christmas in Hungary." We sent him on
his way with a list of places to visit and we asked ourselves: "What will
he find?"

Have we become more close minded people while the younger generation of
those countries are really curious about the world and would need to meet
many open minded people who can explain - in a spirit of charity and
respect - why we believe in certain values????

God's ways are mysterious indeed....

My personal conviction is this: Truth without charity does not work and
charity without truth does not work either! They indeed have to go
together! They cannot be divorced!
