<i>Üdvöz légy, kegyelemmel teljes! Az Úr veled van. </i><br>
Abban az időben:<br>
Isten elküldte Gábor angyalt Galilea Názáret nevű városába egy szűzhöz,
aki jegyese volt egy férfinak, a Dávid házából való Józsefnek. A szűz
neve Mária volt. Az angyal belépett hozzá és így szólt: „Üdvöz légy,
kegyelemmel teljes! Az Úr veled van! Áldottabb vagy te minden
asszonynál!” Ennek hallatára Mária zavarba jött, és gondolkodóba esett,
hogy miféle köszöntés ez.<br>
Az angyal azonban folytatta: Ne félj, Mária! Hisz kegyelmet találtál
Istennél! Mert íme, gyermeket fogansz méhedben és fiút szülsz, s
Jézusnak fogod őt nevezni! Nagy lesz ő: a Magasságbeli Fiának fogják
hívni. Az Úristen neki adja atyjának, Dávidnak trónját. Uralkodni fog
Jákob házán mindörökké, és uralmának soha nem lesz vége!<br>
Mária ekkor megkérdezte az angyalt: „Hogyan történhet meg ez, amikor én
férfit nem ismerek?” Az angyal ezt válaszolta neki: „A Szentlélek száll
le rád, és a Magasságbeli ereje borít be árnyékával. Ezért szent lesz
az, ki tőled születik: Isten Fiának fogják őt hívni. Lásd, rokonod,
Erzsébet is gyermeket fogant öregségében, sőt, már a hatodik hónapban
van, bár <span style="color:rgb(39,78,19)">magtalannak tartják az emberek. </span>Istennél semmi sem lehetetlen.”<br>
Erre Mária így szólt: „Íme, az Úr szolgálóleánya: történjék velem szavaid szerint!”<br>
Ezután az angyal eltávozott.<br>
Ezek az evangélium igéi.

1854, Pope Pius IX declared the dogma of the Immaculate Conception—the
truth that Mary, through a special grace, was preserved free from
<span style="background-color:rgb(234,209,220)">original sin</span>
from the first moment of her conception.<br></b></span><br>Were this not the case<span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>, the angel </b></span>would not have <span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>referred to her at the Annunciation as <span style="color:inherit;line-height:inherit;text-decoration:inherit;font-style:italic">Kecharitomene</span> (full of grace).</b></span> Why would God do such a thing? And wouldn’t this imply that <span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>Mary does not need to be redeemed?</b></span><br><br>The
traditional answer is that <span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>God wanted to prepare a worthy vessel for
the reception of his Word</b></span>. Just as the Holy of Holies in the temple was
kept pure and inviolate, so <span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>the definitive Temple, the true Ark of the
Covenant, which is Mary herself, should all the more be untrammeled.</b></span><br>Bl.
John Duns Scotus explained that Mary is indeed redeemed by the grace of
her Son, but since that grace exists outside of time, it can be applied
in a way that transcends the ordinary rhythms of time. <br><br>Therefore, Mary, by a kind of preemptive strike, was
