<i>Az első négy tanítvány meghívása a csodálatos halfogás után. </i><br>
Amikor Jézus egyszer a Genezáret tavánál állt, nagy tömeg sereglett
köréje, hogy hallgassa az Isten szavát. Jézus látta, hogy a tó partján
két bárka vesztegel. A halászok kiszálltak, és a hálóikat mosták.
Beszállt hát az egyik bárkába, amelyik Simoné volt, s megkérte, hogy
vigye kissé beljebb a parttól. Aztán leült, és a bárkából tanította a
népet.<br>
Amikor befejezte a tanítást, így szólt Simonhoz: „Evezz a mélyre, és
vessétek ki a hálótokat halfogásra.” „Mester – <span style="color:rgb(32,18,77)">válaszolta </span>Simon –, <span style="color:rgb(7,55,99)">egész
éjszaka fáradoztunk, s nem fogtunk semmit, de<span style="color:rgb(255,0,0)"> a te szavadra</span>, kivetem a
hálót.</span>” Meg is tette, s annyi halat fogtak, hogy szakadozni kezdett a
háló. Intettek a másik bárkában levő társaiknak, hogy jöjjenek és
segítsenek. Azok odamentek, és úgy megtöltötték mind a két bárkát, hogy
majdnem elsüllyedt.<br>
Ennek láttán Simon Péter Jézus lábához borult, és e szavakra fakadt:
„Uram, <span style="color:rgb(32,18,77)">menj el tőlem, mert bűnös ember vagyok.</span>” A szerencsés halfogás
láttán ugyanis társaival együtt félelem töltötte el. Hasonlóképpen
Jakabot és Jánost is, Zebedeus fiait, Simon társait. De Jézus bátorságot
öntött Simonba: „Ne félj! Ezentúl emberhalász leszel.”<br>
Erre partra vonták hajóikat, és mindenüket elhagyva követték Jézust.<br>
Ezek az evangélium igéi.

in today’s Gospel, <span style="background-color:rgb(208,224,227)"><b>Jesus climbs into Peter’s boat without asking
permission. He simply commandeers this vessel </b></span>that is central to the
fisherman’s life and commences to give orders. <span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>This represents </b></span>something
of enormous moment: <span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>the invasion of grace.</b></span><br></span><br><span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-weight:400;line-height:inherit;text-decoration:inherit;font-family:georgia,"times new roman";font-style:normal">Though
<span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b> God</b></span> respects our relative independence, he <span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>is not the least bit content
to<span style="background-color:rgb(217,234,211)"> leave us in a “natural” state. </span></b></span>Instead<span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>, he wants to live in us, to
become the Lord of our lives, moving into our minds, wills, bodies,
imaginations, nerves, and bones.<br></b></span></span><br><span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-weight:400;line-height:inherit;text-decoration:inherit;font-family:georgia,"times new roman";font-style:normal">This
commandeering of nature by grace does not involve the compromising of
nature but rather its perfection and elevation. <span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>When Jesus moves into
the house of the soul, the powers of the soul are heightened and
properly directed; when Jesus commands the boat of the natural human
life, that life is preserved, strengthened, and given a new orientation.</b></span><br></span><br><span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-weight:400;line-height:inherit;text-decoration:inherit;font-family:georgia,"times new roman";font-style:normal">This
is signaled symbolically by the Lord’s directive to put out into the
deep water. On our own, we can know and will within a very narrow range,
seeking those goods and truths that appear within the horizon of our
natural consciousness, but <span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>when grace invades us, we are enticed into
far deeper
