<i>János apostol vallja, hogy<u> igaz </u>az ő tanúsága Jézusról. </i><br>
Amikor feltámadása után Jézus még együtt volt övéivel, Péter látta
egyszer, hogy utána jön az a tanítvány, akit Jézus szeretett. Az, aki a
vacsorán odahajolt hozzá, és megkérdezte: „Uram, ki <span style="color:rgb(102,0,0)">az, aki<span style="color:rgb(255,0,0)"> téged </span>
elárul?”</span><br>
Ennek láttára Péter Jézushoz fordult: „Uram, hát ővele mi lesz?” Jézus
így felelt: „Ha azt akarom, hogy így maradjon, amíg el nem jövök, mit
törődöl vele? Te csak kövess engem!”<br>
Így a tanítványok<span style="color:rgb(39,78,19)"> között elterjedt az a vélemény, hogy ez a tanítvány
nem hal meg. </span>Jézus azonban nem azt mondta: „Nem hal meg”, hanem: „Ha azt
akarom, hogy így maradjon, amíg el nem jövök, mit törődöl vele?”<br>
Ez az a tanítvány, aki tanúságot tesz minderről, és ezeket írta. Tudjuk, hogy igaz az ő tanúsága.<br>
<u>Jézus még sok mást is cselekedett</u>. Ha egyenként mind megírnák, azt
hiszem, <u>az<span style="color:rgb(39,78,19)"> egész világ </span>sem tudná befogadni a könyveket, amelyeket írni
kellene.</u><br>
Ezek az evangélium igéi.

in today’s Gospel, <span style="background-color:rgb(208,224,227)"><b>when Peter asks about the destiny of the beloved
disciple, Jesus says: “What if I want him to remain until I come? What
concern is it of yours? You follow me.” </b></span>Here at the close of John’s
Gospel we can take this command to heart. What does following Jesus
involve?<br></span><br><span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b><span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);line-height:inherit;text-decoration:inherit;font-family:georgia,"times new roman";font-style:normal">True conversion—the </span><span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);line-height:inherit;text-decoration:inherit;font-family:georgia,"times new roman";font-style:italic">metanoia</span></b></span><span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-weight:400;line-height:inherit;text-decoration:inherit;font-family:georgia,"times new roman";font-style:normal"><span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>
</b></span>that Jesus talks about—<span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>is so much more than </b></span><span style="background-color:rgb(217,234,211)"><b>moral reform<span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)">,</span></b></span><span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b> though it
includes</b></span> <span style="background-color:rgb(217,234,211)">that</span>. It has to do with a complete shift in consciousness, <span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>a
whole new way of looking at one’s life.</b></span> Jesus offered a teaching that
must have been gut-wrenching to his first-century audience: <span style="background-color:rgb(208,224,227)"><b>“If anyone
wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross
daily and follow me.”<br></b></span></span><br><span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-weight:400;line-height:inherit;text-decoration:inherit;font-family:georgia,"times new roman";font-style:normal"><span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>His
listeners knew what<span style="background-color:rgb(234,209,220)"> the cross meant: a death in utter agony, nakedness,
and humiliation</span></b></span>. They didn’t think of the cross
automatically in religious terms, as we do. <span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>They knew </b></span><span style="background-color:rgb(234,209,220)"><b>it in all of its
