Búcsúbeszédében Jézus így szólt tanítványaihoz:<br>
Bizony, bizony, mondom nektek: Bármit kértek majd az én nevemben az
Atyától, megadja nektek. <span style="color:rgb(39,78,19)">Mindeddig semmit sem kértetek </span>az én nevemben. <u>
Kérjetek, és kaptok, hogy örömötök teljes legyen!</u><br>
<span style="color:rgb(39,78,19)">Ezeket hasonlatokban</span> mondtam nektek. Eljön az óra, amikor már nem <span style="color:rgb(39,78,19)">hasonlatokban szólok,</span> hanem nyíltan beszélek az Atyáról.<br>
Azon a napon majd az én nevemben kértek, és nem mondom azt nektek, hogy
én kérem értetek az Atyát. Hiszen az Atya szeret titeket, mivel ti is
szerettetek engem, és hittétek, hogy az Istentől jöttem.<br>
Eljöttem az Atyától és <span style="color:rgb(39,78,19)">a világ</span>ba jöttem. Most elhagyom <span style="color:rgb(39,78,19)">a világot</span>, és visszatérek az Atyához.<br>
Ezek az evangélium igéi.

the Father in my name he will give you.</b></span><br></span><br><span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-weight:400;line-height:inherit;text-decoration:inherit;font-family:georgia,"times new roman";font-style:normal">If
God cannot change, what is the point of asking him for anything? And if
God is omniscient, what is the point of telling him what you need? The
same Jesus who told us to ask and ask again also informed us that God
“knows what you need before you ask him.”<br></span><br><span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-weight:400;line-height:inherit;text-decoration:inherit;font-family:georgia,"times new roman";font-style:normal">One
way to shed light on this problem is to refer to the biblical
master-metaphor for God—namely, the parent<span style="background-color:rgb(217,234,211)"><b>. Parents hear petitions from
their children constantly, persistent requests for things, some good and
some quite bad</b></span>—<span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>and decent parents know what their child needs long
before <span style="background-color:rgb(217,234,211)">she asks for

indeed knows everything about everything and so obviously is aware of

in hearing<span style="background-color:rgb(217,234,211)"> our </span>requests—and like a good parent, he does not always
