interview.</b></span></p>
<p>“Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong,” the billionaire financier acknowledged <span class="m_-8876932551016628429gmail-aBn"><span class="m_-8876932551016628429gmail-aQJ">Saturday</span></span> in an <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/i-must-be-doing-something-right-billionaire-george-soros-faces-renewed-attacks-with-defiance/2018/06/09/3ba0e2b0-6825-11e8-9e38-24e693b38637_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.de4df62ff0ab" target="_blank">interview</a> with the Washington Post. Chief among Soros’ defeats is the victory of Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton, despite Soros <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/08/04/battle-billionaires-clinton-s-uber-rich-backers-pour-money-into-trump-fight.html" target="_blank">donating</a> $9 million to pro-Clinton super PACs in the 2016 election cycle and more than $25 million to Democrats overall.</p>
<p>“Apparently, I was living in my own bubble,” Soros said, admitting he
didn’t expect Trump -- a controversial businessman and celebrity who
had never sought political office before -- to win the presidency.</p>
<p>Also counting against him were Great Britain’s <a href="https://www.lifesitenews.com/opinion/independent-britain-has-to-fix-its-broken-family-culture" target="_blank">withdrawal</a>
from the European Union that same year and the fact that his
involvement in political campaigns around the world has often become a
liability for his own causes.</p>
<p><u><span style="background-color:rgb(234,209,220)"><b>While he continues to find himself on the winning side of key battles, such as <a href="https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/amnesty-intl-caught-illegally-taking-soros-money-to-sway-ireland-abortion-r" target="_blank"><span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)">Ireland</span>’s legalization of abortion</a> or the <a href="https://www.lifesitenews.com/blogs/doug-jones-didnt-win-the-alabaman-election.-george-soros-and-his-media-alli" target="_blank">Alabama special election</a> that sent pro-abortion Doug Jones to the Senate, he <span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)">has also lost battles, such as the <a href="https://www.lifesitenews.com/blogs/hungarians-defy-george-soros-give-crushing-win-to-pro-christian-conservativ" target="_blank">Hungarian prime minister election</a> and district attorney elections in California.</span></b></span></u></p>
<p><span style="background-color:rgb(208,224,227)"><b>Conservatives often frame</b></span> <u><span style="background-color:rgb(234,209,220)"><b>Soros as a malevolent influence on <span style="background-color:rgb(217,234,211)">
elections</span>, using his fortune to impose leftist ideology all over the
world.</b></span> </u>“It makes it very difficult for me to speak effectively,” he
admitted.</p>
<p>But despite claiming to have often been “taken out of context<u><span style="background-color:rgb(234,209,220)"><b>,” Soros continues to spend his millions on a <a href="http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/individualProfile.asp?indid=977" target="_blank">wide range</a> of left-wing causes <a href="https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/billionaire-leftist-soros-pouring-more-money-into-lobbying-efforts" target="_blank">such as</a> abortion, euthanasia, and population control, as well as same-sex “marriage,” transgenderism, and more.</b></span></u></p>
<p>Further, he has every intention of continuing to do so. His New
York-based Open Society Foundations spends $940 million annually in 100
different countries, including $150 million per year funding the
left-wing American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the leading abortion
provider Planned Parenthood, and other liberal groups.</p>
<p><span style="background-color:rgb(234,209,220)"><b>Soros says he intends to spend at least $15 million to elect Democrats in this fall’s midterm elections. </b><span style="background-color:rgb(255,255,255)">He is <a href="https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/planned-parenthood-joins-soros-scheme-to-give-democrats-control-of-senate" target="_blank">also involved</a>
in the “Win Justice” PAC, an alliance of Planned Parenthood and other
liberal groups that plans to spend $30 million to mobilize young,
female, and minority voters in Senate battleground races.</span></span></p>
<p><u><span style="background-color:rgb(234,209,220)"><b>Promoting abortion-on-demand in America and <a href="https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/soros-funded-womens-rights-group-promotes-contraception-abortion" target="_blank">abroad</a> has been an area of particular emphasis for Soros. </b></span></u>According to the Media Research Center, he <a href="https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/pro-abort-billionaire-george-soros-gave-nearly-90-million-to-feminist-anti" target="_blank">has donated</a>
more than $21 million to Planned Parenthood since 2000, and gave last
year’s so-called Women’s March on Washington almost $90 million via
donations to more than 100 partnered organizations such as NARAL and the
National Abortion Federation.</p>
<p>Abortion policy is also one of the areas in which the effect of Trump’s election has been the most pronounced.</p>
<p><span style="background-color:rgb(255,242,204)"><b>Pro-life activists have cheered <span style="background-color:rgb(217,234,211)">Trump</span> for <a href="https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/life-is-the-true-source-of-americas-greatness-president-trump-tells-pro-lif" target="_blank">pursuing a wide range</a>
of pro-life policies, including reinstating and expanding the Mexico

states defund <span style="background-color:rgb(234,209,220)">abortion providers,</span> appointing a record number of federal
judges, taking executive actions to protect religious liberty, and most
recently <a href="https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/breaking-trump-to-ban-family-planning-funds-to-clinics-that-perform-or-refe" target="_blank">disqualifying <span style="background-color:rgb(234,209,220)">abortion providers</span></a><span style="background-color:rgb(234,209,220)"> from</span> Title X family planning subsidies.</b></span></p>

<p>But while George Soros recognizes his own role in his various setbacks, ultimately he claims the pushback as a badge of honor.</p>
