-          a man who is reflective, meditative,

-          almost the antithesis of John Paul II ,

-          quietly attractive, a gentle serenity about him,

-          “We want to be a synodal church, a church that moves forward,
that…….. that helps those suffering,”

-          You can’t really tell what synodality is …

-          He doesn’t want abrupt changes, wants to uphold some continuity
with Pope Francis,

-          about to declare St. John Henry Newman a Doctor of the Church,

-          a mistake to say: that lay people could exercise power in the
Church

-          ‘Personnel is policy’

-          the liturgy wars have enflamed

§  – Eastern Christian liturgy, Traditional Latin Mass, !!!the
entertainment type Mass !!!

§  Mass should be Divine Worship

-          visiting the sick – Pope Leo has a very unassuming, kind
character

-          he’s not a bureaucrat, he’s not hiding from people,

We DON’T need any novel teachings in the Church.

-          he talks about bringing people together, teaching people to
learn about the Gospel

-          greatest challenge for Pope Leo:  to restore the Church to
credibility

state of adultery should be given communion, actively homosexual couples
must not be blessed,

will listen to someone who wants to

speak to him,

outstanding questions regarding dishonest financial dealings should be
resolved

the governing organization of the Church should be above suspicion

the challenges for Pope Leo XIV:

-          reaffirm doctrine,

-          clarify what has been distorted,

-          fix the Curia
