Among the *many horrible testimonies* was that of a priest from the Minya
region who declared that at least *"15 girls disappear every year only in
the area where I live...Women who disappear and are never found and have to
live an unimaginable nightmare, the vast majority of these women never
reunite with their families or friends until they die"*.



*The police often say that women and girls went with their abductors
voluntarily*, an argument that is often used in countries where religious
minorities are regularly abducted and forced to marry.


There have been about *500 cases in recent years, but cases have multiplied
this year*, particularly affecting *girls and women in the Coptic Christian
community*.


The *Salafist Muslim groups* organized in Egypt are committed to spreading
the *"Womb Jihad"*, extremist Muslims kidnap Christian girls and women and
give birth to Muslim children.
