Stand up for a doctor that understands human dignity and respects the right
to life.

Support the world renowned Professor of Medicine, Dr. Bogdan Chazan, who
was fired from his position as the Director of Holy Family Hospital in
Warsaw, Poland for *refusing to perform an abortion. *

*He refused, referring to the conscience clause in the Polish Constitution.*
In Poland, much like the United States, the constitution trumps legal
statutes. Article 53 of the Polish Constitution guarantees Dr. Chazan and
any other pro-life doctor the legal right to freedom of conscience; thus,
they are not required directly or indirectly to perform or take part in
abortions.

However, the Polish government went after Holy Family Hospital, penalizing
them with an amount equivalent of $ 23,000 usd.

*Immediately after, the Mayor of Warsaw fired Dr. Chazan! *

This is an issue that should be concerning to everyone -- and it is! Dr.
Chazan's story published around the globe as a full-on assault on pro-life
doctors*.  Help us stand for the rights of pro-life doctors.* Sign our

Dr. Chazan, a highly respected doctor, was fired for not performing an
abortion. He claimed his freedom of conscience, but that argument was not
(apparently) strong enough for the Mayor.

The baby was conceived in a *fertility clinic through in vitro and became
very ill (there was a deformity).* 22 weeks into her pregnancy, the mother
went to Dr. Chazan and asked him to perform an abortion, or refer her to
someone that would. *He refused, referring to the conscience clause in the
Polish Constitution.*

According to the decision made by Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, the Mayor of
Warsaw, Dr. Chazan *did not use the conscience clause properly, because he
was required to give the patient the name of a doctor who would perform an
abortion.  *Dr. Chazan felt that the act of referring someone to a doctor
for the purpose of having an abortion is indirectly taking part in that
abortion. The fine was unwarranted, because though Dr. Chazan did not
provide the patient with the name of someone to perform an abortion,
another doctor at Holy Family Hospital did.

Help us support the freedom of conscience of Dr. Chazan. Please sign our

pro-life doctors.

As I said above, Dr. Chazan is a man that *understands human dignity and
respects the right to life.*

Instead of offering abortion services, Dr. Chazan offered: *medical advice
for the mother, hospital care before, during and after the pregnancy, and
perinatal hospice care for the child. *

Dr. Chazan is a world renowned pro-life doctor and professor.  He is a
prominent specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology. During his tenure at the
hospital, he led Holy Family to achieve many awards. There are many women,
children, and families who are extremely grateful to Dr. Chazan for his
professionalism and the love that he provides to every patient.

*Sign our petition to support Dr. Chazan. The right to life and freedom of
conscience are basic and fundamental rights that everyone deserves!* For
the sake of all pro-life doctors, we must protest this decision to fire Dr.
Chazan.
